Wow, what an experience. The staff at Homeikan are amazing. They are always friendly and always helpful. The accomodation was excellent. We stayed in a 4 person room, which was decorated beautifully and really felt homey. The Onsen was great, and the service provided was more like a perfect hotel than a guesthouse. Beds were packed away everyday and hot tea and snacks provided on a great little table in the room. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, we stayed for 5 nights and the service just got better everyday...More

We stayed at one of the three hotels in this group - the Homeikan Daimachi, during a business trip. It's a beautiful, quiet place just off Hongo-Dori near the Hongo campus of Tokyo University. We loved it. The building is beautiful, with exquisite woodwork. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff are kind, attentive and helpful, and the bathrooms clean, with proper Japanese hot baths. A wonderful experience.

This was a fantastic ryokan in Tokyo. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful and this place has the most character of any of my accommodations in Japan. The private onsen in the basement of the main building is extremely nice! The location made it difficult to go out and party in Roppongi or Shinjuku, but that was my only complaint.

Nice and peaceful place! Loved the bath! Getting to Homeikan was a bit hard though, the directions were a bit confusing. Breakfast was great too!

One of the highlights of our trip was the helpful and charming reception of the staff at the Daimachi branch. The ryokan is located very near Kasuga subway and is within a good stroll of Tokyo Dome and JR station Sudobashi. The bathing area was very well kept, there's a hairdryer in the changing room which is coin-free! Our room was a little dusty, so if you're an asthma sufferer take heed. Excellent value for a more quiet and traditional stay in Japan. Will definitely be back!

Simple yet charming authentic japanese hostel. If you want to experience a tokyo in contrast to all high rise buildings and jet set neighborhoods, this is the place. Cheap, clean and again, very authentic. Recommended.
